In 2019, we launched a design research project called La Ventana with YLabs to rethink the way we provide sex education. Our team worked with young people, parents, and health providers in El Salvador to understand if pleasure-based education could bridge the gap between what young people want to know about sex and relationships and what they need to know.

Reaching the finals of the Sharecare Awards is a huge win for pleasure inclusive sex education. Established in 2019 with the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, New York Chapter, which fosters creativity and inspires artistic and technical excellence through the renowned Emmy® Award, the Sharecare Awards celebrate the year’s most inspiring and impactful work that spark awareness and action toward better health.

La Ventana is one of 56 finalists chosen across 14 categories including health activism, behavioral/mental health, chronic conditions, health/science news and program specials, and COVID-19 care/pandemic response. Each finalist is eligible to win the Sharing Care Award, and the public is invited to help select the winner by voting between now and Wednesday, June 30.

If you’ve been impacted or inspired by our work, please take a moment to help us win the Sharing Care Award. You can vote once a day, per device, between now and June 30. It only takes a moment, and there is no registration required!
